Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) has been long been engaged with STEM-infused project-based learning in K-12 as a ready resource for students and teachers at the nearby Tracy Learning Center outside of Tracy, California, one of the exemplars Learn to Compete has identified.  LLNL is anxious to further develop its community engagement initiative to afford greater access to the Lab’s considerable resources: facilities, scientists, mentors, and internships.

The cooperation between LLNL and Tracy Learning Center exemplifies the kinds of relationships Learn to Compete will foster across the country.  LLNL has agreed to host both confirmed and prospective Learn to Compete Commissioners for a working dialogue on ways schools can adopt scalable and replicable elements demonstrated in established schools and convert them into their own transformative practices.
